We look forward to meeting you at Hanley Community Fire station each Friday at 6.30pm -9.30pm
We attended an exhibition on the 11th April at The Burslem School of Art, titled Digital Media Challenge. It was a collection of photography and videography from a diverse group of people expressing themselves through pictures after gaining extra tips and knowledge from their course tutors. The Adult Learning Photography and Film Course ran from 2011-2012.
We were welcomed and enjoyed a lovely evening admiring the art work, we even made some contacts and saw some old friends. We recommend you take a look at what can be achieved in 10 weeks, they should be very proud of their hard work, if you would like to see their work you can visit the Burselm School of Art or check out the website www.digitalmediachallenge.com
I have stumbled upon a great website with lots of interesting pics! Take a look at http://convozine.com/depth-of-field

Faith in Photography are a ministry based at Hanley Baptist Church.
Andreas and Louisa Christaki are the co-ordinators of Faith in photography. We are two creative people that want to add that spark to Christians, encourage and support other passionate people who want to be part of something more..... fellowship. Originally from London we have been living in Stoke for nearly 11years. With a Qualification in Black and white photography, 15 years in webdesign and Photoshop, attended college in London and studied Art and Design then on to study Electronics. He also worked in London as a computer technician, Andy has an abundance of gifts to serve in the creative media. Andy worked with Staffordshire Living Magazine and had a beauty shoot published, Photographed Casting Crowns, Risen from Ruins, Philippa Hanna and The Cameleonz.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Faith in photography came about in a God way, it started nearly two years ago now, my wife and I were taking the kids out to a children’s funhouse, after a few hours of screaming children with was time to get the kids ready as I was taking my son to the bathroom I notice a tear in the floor and it was patched up with yellow tape, the thing that stood out was in was in a perfect shape of a cross and I started having scriptures jumping out at me. As the weeks went on it would not stop, crosses everywhere all with scriptures jumping into my head, all God had created had this meaning, this image I had never seen before. |
HELLO AND WELCOME, GOD BLESS YOU FOR STOPPING BY, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT OUR WEBSITE.... FAITH IN PHOTOGRAPHY “But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.” Matthew 13:16 Our Ministry is to share our creative talents for the good of the community, with Jesus Christ the centre and reason for our coming together. We encourage you to express your faith through photography, capturing what you see, worshiping God in all aspects of daily life.
The word photography is based on the Greek φῶς (photos) "light" and γραφή (graphé) "representation by means of lines" or "drawing", together meaning "drawing with light".[3] This isn’t just photography this is WORSHIP!
My Lord has made each moment in time that will never come again, never be like the last moment and I can freeze that and wonder at it! I can hold that moment in my hand and fall into it, cry or laugh at it. I can show others that moment too, people who weren’t there can see and be part of it. We can marvel at tropical rainforests, The aurora borealis, and see each corner of the Earth, we can look with Gods eyes and see everything He has made having never boarded a plane. It is the perfect way to WORSHIP God, everything you capture is His, go and admire it. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Colossians 1 KJV Using inspiring scriptures we can bring Gods word to life in pictures. PHOTOGRAPHY HAS NO LANUGUAGE BARRIER OR AGE LIMIT Hello, Andy and I run the Faith in Photography group each Friday at the Hanley Community Fire Station. We have been running since June 2010 so we are still growing! As a fellowship we pray before starting, we encourage people to become as involved as they are comfortable with. Refreshments are provided and we accept donations for this. Each week we do something different, we have been experimenting with light photography, this has really sparked off peoples imagination. The photos produced are something to be marvelled at, most people in the group have little or no experience of photography. They have all progressed at their own speed and have produced great results. We offer a group that allows people to exercise self-expression, good judgement and life skills. We like people putting their own style in their photo, listen to how we do something, but we are delighted to find they have found a new way to do something. This is why I love creative learning, in Maths it’s only one answer 2+2=4 any other answer is wrong. In our groups how you feel isn’t wrong, how you express isn’t wrong. It’s about how you see the world, your perspective, your emotion why you took a photo of what you did. This is particularly useful way to learn with vulnerable, disabled or special needs people as it is a safe place to make mistakes. We all have a chance to show our own work of what we have been doing in the week, if Gods in a humorous mood we will all have photos of practically the same things! We have enjoyed trips out, visiting St Marys Catholic Church in Newcastle, on a Heritage Day, which meant the church was open in all areas. It was very interesting and we were warmly welcomed. Our church’s reputation preceded us and they were glad to have us. It’s about celebrating the things we can do and enjoying the learning process of things we can’t do yet. Our goal is to get Christian art into Art galleries, exhibitions, schools and hospitals. Bringing our work to a higher platform, we are sneaking Jesus into places he wouldn’t normally be. ITS JUST NOT SOLEY ON WHAT YOU HAVE PRODUCED AT THE END OF THE SESSION BUT WHAT'S BEEN PRODUCED IN YOU.
